Thereby, Thomas Timm and Martin Schulz also developed a lively discussion on the topic of "fixed-term employment contracts". Shortly before his visit to Schelchen GmbH, Schulz had announced his intention to reduce fixed-term employment contracts. Thomas Timm countered: "These contracts are not devilish stuff. They help companies to react on difficult situations. We are very conscientious about this and have converted 20 fixed-term contracts into permanent jobs over the past five years."

Impressive insoles production

After the political discussion Martin Schulz visited the production of high-quality insoles and foot supports. The employees explained their work to him and he drew an impressed conclusion: "I learned more about insoles in ten minutes today than in my whole life before," he said.

Appreciation for the company

At the end of his visit, Schulz praised Schelchen GmbH and its employees: "A fantastic company, an impressive production," he enthused. "Made in Germany is the basis of success".

Since February 22, Martin Schulz has been testing the pedag Viva® and Viva® Sport foot supports – the manufacturer gives no guarantee as to how far they will go with him poitically.
