Apprenticeship fair

Information about career opportunities

26.08.2019 | Under the motto "Training is future! Find out what fits!" the 10th training fair of the district Dahme-Spreewald took place in Königs Wusterhausen on August 24, 2019. There students and their parents informed themselves about the training opportunities in the district. Schelchen GmbH was also represented with a booth.

Many students and parents often ask themselves only shortly before they graduate from school what their professional future will be like and what training opportunities the Dahme-Spreewald region offers young people. More than 110 exhibitors, including Schelchen GmbH, provided answers to questions about starting a career at this year's training fair at the Oberstufenzentrum Königs Wusterhausen.

The training fair developed to a successful platform for a joint apprentice marketing of district and local companies in the past ten years. This year it again offers young people and their parents the unique opportunity to find out about more than 130 job profiles and 30 dual studies in conventional and new industries in one location at the same time and to talk to trainees, training managers and company heads. "They could even introduce themselves directly to the companies on the day of the fair (...) and present an application folder," said Deputy District Administrator Susanne Rieckhof in a statement by Wirtschaftsförderung Dahme-Spreewald (WFG).

Schelchen GmbH contributes every year

"We take part every year and are happy about the growing number of interested students. The fair is very important for our search for suitable candidates – it even happened that an candidate we met at the fair had a apprenticeship contract in his hand only one week later," reports Susan Bohne, responsible for HR at Schelchen GmbH in Zeesen.

The patron of the event, District Administrator Stephan Loge, is delighted about the successful event, which is becoming more and more popular. "Young people need to know about the wide range of professions and training opportunities available in our district. Only those who know what there is in the region will stay in the region," said Loge in a statement by WFG Dahme-Spreewald.
