Image Tips to fight foot odour

Insoles made of absorbent natural fibres with active carbon filter can help your to fight unpleasantly smelly feet, but sometimes they are not enough. This is why we decided to give you some tips and suggestions to fight malodours of your feet and your shoes.

pedag's little helpers

  • If your feet tend to sweat a lot and usually carry along an unpleasant smell, you should regularly change your shoes. After wearing them for one day, air them for two days in a warm and dry place.
  • Use our absorbent pedag shoe trees, ideally made of cedar or beechwood. They extract the moisture out of the shoe, fight bacteria and germs and additionally smooth ugly creases of the leather.
  • Take the insoles out of your shoes after wearing and before inserting the shoe tree. Allow at least one full day to dry and regenerate.
  • If it is too late for preventive measures, try a shoe deodorant. Our pedag FRESHENER completely neutralises bad smells, without covering them with strong perfumes.
  • When treating your shoes, do not seal the outer leather surface, otherwise it will lose its ability to breathe. All of our high-quality, functional pedag shoe care products will care and clean your shoes, without impairing the circulation of the air.

Home remedies against smelly feet

In addition to the „little helpers“ that pedag offers for your regular foot hygiene, there is also a large number of effective home remedies and tips to prevent sweaty and smelly feet.

  • When buying new shoes, watch for breathable materials.
  • Your socks should be made of natural fibres or quality high-tech materials. Both kinds of material regulate the moisture in the shoe: they absorb the sweat produced by the feet and keep them dry.
  • Wash your feet every day. Not only does this remove dirt, but also bacteria, fungi and odours. Try to use as little soap as possible as it destroys the natural protective layer of the skin.
  • If your feet tend to sweat more than average, regularly prepare yourself foot baths with oak bark or tannin (you will be able to purchase it in pharmacies and drugstores). This will help you to regulate sweat problems. Additionally, use talcum powder as is absorbs the moisture of the foot.
  • Try to give your feet room to breathe. Walk barefoot as frequently as possible. The fresh air does your feet well and walking barefoot is also ideal to keep your musculoskeletal system healthy.

No matter if you are among those whose feet sweat more than average or not: our pedag insoles and foot supports are indispensable for everyone’s daily foot hygiene.
